Düsseldorf: The City I Come Home To

18 October 2026 · Dinh Huy

Düsseldorf is where I live, and the hardest place to photograph well. There is no first-time wonder to lean on, so you have to actually look. This series is what I found when I did.

The Rhine. Most of the city's life happens near the water: the Rheinturm catching the last light, the MedienHafen reflected in the harbour, and the wide river steps where half the city sits on a warm evening.

Altstadt and Little Tokyo. Between the old-town lanes, the promenade and the neon of Immermannstraße, Düsseldorf is best explored on foot, ideally around blue hour when the lights come on.

Shoots in Düsseldorf. Looking for a local photographer who knows where the light falls? Services has the details on hotel, brand and lifestyle shoots.

How it was shot. Shot on Fujifilm and graded warm and filmic. The in-camera settings are on the Fujifilm Recipes page.
